The Quake 3 Arena Test is a multiplay-only, free download from Id Software. It allows players to log onto servers and play against each other in the Quake 3 environment. While it includes none of the single player levels, Quake 3 Arena Test allows players to experience the fury of a full-fledged frag fest. Q3AT includes many new weapons and all the old favorites, as well as an internal chat system for player and team communication. Quake 3 Arena Test supports most major 3D accelerator cards for stunning visuals and particle effects. The new game engine is much more streamlined. It runs at more frames per second and still supports more polygons in the objects present. The result is sharp, blazingly fast graphics and furious gameplay. This download was only available for the Mac until recently now PC users can join in the fun too.
